The Dallas Stars and Boston Bruins face off on Friday night at American Airlines Center. The two clubs meet for the second time during the 2018-19 campaign and for the second occasion in less than two weeks. Dallas has collected points in two of the last three games against Boston (1-1-1). In the first game of the season series at TD Garden on Nov. 5, Boston defeated Dallas in overtime, 2-1. Forward Radek Faksa potted the lone goal (1-0=1) for the Stars and defenseman Miro Heiskanen added an assist (0-1=1). Goaltender Anton Khudobin turned aside 33 of the 35 shots he faced against his former team. On special teams, the Stars were 0-of-1 on the power play and 1-for-3 on the penalty kill. The Stars have lost five-straight games (0-5-0) to the Bruins at American Airlines Center, which is the club's longest active home losing streak to any NHL club (last win: 4-2, Dec. 31, 2011). During the only game of the 2017-18 season in the Lone Star State, the Bruins defeated the Stars, 3-2, on March 23, 2018. Captain Jamie Benn (1-0=1) and defenseman Esa Lindell (1-0=1) lit the lamp for Dallas with center Tyler Seguin (0-1=1), forward Jason Dickinson (0-1=1) and defenseman Stephen Johns (0-1=1) each adding assists.
I need a Miro!
Defenseman Miro Heiskanen tallied an assist (0-1=1) on Monday against the Blue Jackets and now has inked the scoresheet in four of his last five games (0-4=4). Heiskanen logged a career-high 29:26 time on ice last Saturday against the Nashville Predators, which was the most TOI logged in a regular-season contest by a rookie in Dallas Stars history (note: TOI became an official League statistic in 1997-98). His 29:26 TOI was also the 14th-highest TOI logged in a single game this season by an NHL defenseman and the most by any rookie blueliner. In 18 games this season, Heiskanen ranks seventh on the club with eight points (2-6=8). He shares second on the Stars in game-winning goals (2), ranks third on the club in time on ice (22:47) and shares fifth in assists (6). Among NHL rookies, the blueliner ranks first in time on ice (22:47), shares first in game-winning goals (2) and is tied for fourth in assists (6). The native of Espoo, Finland was selected by Dallas with the third overall selection in the 2017 NHL Draft. He made his NHL debut this season on Oct. 4 vs. Arizona and tallied his first NHL point with an assist (0-1=1) on Oct. 9 vs. Toronto.
