The start of November marks the official countdown to this season’s College Football Playoff with the initial release of the CFP rankings on Oct. 31. The first Saturday of the new month features the biggest game of the year with major playoff implications. It also features a number of great betting matchups at Intertops online sportsbook as one of the best online outlets to bet on all the games.
The SEC’s Alabama Crimson Tide started the season as the No. 1 team in the country on both national polls and they should hold that spot when the first CFP rankings are released. Coming off last year’s national title run, they have won their first eight games straight-up with a 5-3 record against the spread. Every single game has closed with Alabama favored by at least 22 points.

The crystal ball: 2018 FCS playoff projection

This Saturday in an 8 p.m. start on CBS, the Tide goes on the road for their toughest test of the season as 14-point favorites to tangle with SEC West Division rival LSU. The No. 4 Tigers are 7-1 SU (5-3 ATS) with key victories against Auburn, Georgia and Mississippi State. The lone loss was against the No. 13 Florida Gators.
Alabama has won five of its last six road games SU against the Tigers and it has an 8-3-1 edge ATS in its last 12 trips to Baton Rouge. The total line for this Saturday’s showdown has been set at 53.5 points and it has stayed UNDER in four of the last five meetings at Tiger Stadium.
Another big matchup on the college football betting board this Saturday is a Big 12 battle between the No. 12 West Virginia Mountaineers and the No. 15 Texas Longhorns in a scheduled 3:30 p.m. kickoff on FOX from Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Texas is coming off a 38-35 loss to Oklahoma State as a 2.5-point road favorite to snap an SU six-game winning streak

Texas won last year’s matchup in Morgantown 28-14 closing as a three-point road underdog with the total staying UNDER the closing 54.5-point betting line.
Also at 3:30 p.m. on CBS is another big SEC clash in the East Division between the No. 6 Georgia Bulldogs and the surprising No. 11 Kentucky Wildcats. The Bulldogs (7-1 SU, 4-4 ATS) are coming off a huge 36-17 victory over Florida as seven-point home favorites and they will go on the road against Kentucky as 9.5-point favorites. The Wildcats moved to 7-1 SU (4-4 ATS) with last Saturday’s 15-14 upset over Missouri as 7.5-point road underdogs. The total has stayed UNDER in six of their last seven games and it has been opened at 44 points for Saturday’s clash at Kroger Field.
Georgia brings a five-game winning streak against Kentucky both SU and ATS into this season’s matchup. It has also won its last five road games against the Wildcats SU.
