The Game
Patrick Marleau will play his 1,600th NHL game when the Toronto Maple Leafs face the Boston Bruins at Scotiabank Arena.
Marleau, who has 13 points (five goals, eight assists) in 24 games this season and 1,142 points (540 goals, 602 assists) in 21 NHL seasons, will be the 11th player ever with 1,600 games.
Goalie Jaroslav Halak will start for the Bruins, who are 3-0-2 in their past five games and have allowed two or fewer goals in four of their past five.

Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk has three goals in his past four games and his 10 goals are second for Boston, after David Pastrnak (17).
Maple Leafs forward Andreas Johnsson had his first NHL hat trick against the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday, scoring three goals in a 7:35 span in the first period.

Status report
Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said Carlo and McAvoy are getting closer to returning but did not want to speculate on whether they could play later in the week. … Zaitsev did not take the morning skate because of an illness but Maple Leafs coach Mike Babcock said he believes Zaitsev will play. If he can't play, Marincin would replace him.
