Panthers’ power play vs. Toronto penalty kill
The Panthers, along with their intrastate rivals in Tampa Bay, were one of two teams averaging more than one power-play goal a game heading into Friday. The quarterback of the Panther power play is Keith Yandle, who co-led the league with Tampa’s Nikita Kucherov with 19 power-play points. But Florida had two other players, Jonathan Huberdeau and Mike Hoffman, ranked in the NHL top-10 in scoring with the man advantage. Considering the Panthers have gone two straight games without scoring on the PP, this after scoring two power-play goals in three of their previous five games, it’s possible they’re due.
